Wrapped in fabric

Don't want to add to that swamp of discarded wrapping paper drifting around everyone's legs on Christmas morning? Then make the wrapping part of the present, and wrap in fabric.

Just take a square-ish piece of fabric that'll generously cover your present. (If you're really keen, you can hem the edges and voila! Instant scarf!) Place it face down, with the present in the centre. Take diagonally opposing corners, and tie together over the top of your present. Then tie the other two corners on top. Neat. Wrapping's all done, sticky tape free, and with an elegant Oriental flavour.

Obviously, this won't work too well with sheers...
